Recommendation Paper - 55th AEM
For 24 years, US-ASEAN Business Council’s annual engagement with the ASEAN Economic Ministers (AEM) has served as the centerpiece of our ASEAN Committee. The American businesses continue seeing the region as a top destination for investment and two-way trade, providing an alternative for global manufacturers in their regional diversification strategy. To maximize those potentials, we hope to continue promoting the ease of doing business in the region through harmonization of trade rules and advancement of ASEAN regional integration as envisioned by the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) 2025. This Recommendations Paper on Building a Digital and Sustainable Economy for ASEAN is the Council’s key deliverable for the 55th AEM Meeting held in August 2023. The paper highlights several key initiatives and recommendations that we feel critical not only to accelerate digital and green transformation across the region, but also to maximize economic gains.
